The local government of Albacete has announced plans for an immersive Christmas experience, ‘Lucidum’, set to take place in the Jardinillos park. This year, the spectacle will feature around thirty life-sized figures spread across 22 scenes, all designed to create a festive atmosphere.
The installation will cost the council €127,050 and will be open to the public free of charge from 17 December to 4 January, operating daily from 6 PM to 10 PM.
The figures will include a large nativity scene and other traditional Christmas elements, alongside festive characters that embody the holiday spirit. The figures will be handcrafted from high-density silk, painted by hand, and will be retro-illuminated to enhance the visual experience.
Last year’s edition of ‘Lucidum’ was well-received, featuring projections on animal and plant figures, complemented by immersive sound and lighting effects. This year, the local government aims to expand the experience, filling the entire Jardinillos park with thousands of energy-efficient lights, original music, and synchronised light displays.
Through this immersive light and sound experience, the council hopes to boost cultural and tourism activities during the Christmas season, thereby supporting local commerce and hospitality while providing family-friendly entertainment.
