Albatoy returns to IFAB with over 50 family-friendly activities

Albatoy is set to return this weekend to the IFAB (Feria Institucional de Albacete) with over 50 activity spaces dedicated to games, collecting, and family leisure. Dani Sancha, the deputy for Youth and Sports, participated in the presentation of the fair's eleventh edition, organised by the Cultural Association Tekubi, which will host 23 exhibitors across 7,400 square metres of exhibition space.

Sancha highlighted the intergenerational nature of the event, which combines popular culture, creativity, specialised commerce, and participatory proposals for all ages. He invited families from the city and province to explore the event's programming.

This year's fair will showcase toys that marked childhoods, collections that evoke memories, games that continue to unite generations, and new forms of entertainment. Albatoy will take place on 7 and 8 November at the Recinto Ferial de la IFAB.

During his speech, Sancha commended the organisers for their efforts in preparing such a diverse programme and noted that last year's fair attracted over 5,000 visitors. He stated, “Albatoy is much more than a fair for collecting and toys: it is a meeting space for generations, a family leisure proposal, a showcase for specialised commerce and creativity, and an opportunity to preserve our popular culture while energising Albacete and its province.”

He emphasised the importance of a proposal that allows people of different ages to share hobbies, discover new activities, and enjoy healthy leisure alternatives through experiences ranging from traditional games to robotics, video games, creative workshops, and brain-teaser activities.

Sancha also expressed gratitude to the staff at IFAB who contribute to the preparation and development of various fairs held throughout the year.

One of the key features of Albatoy is its commitment to providing an experience where the public can actively participate in many activities. Visitors will find tournaments, mini-games, arcade machines, escape rooms, scavenger hunts, and skill-based games, alongside medieval-themed activities, sports proposals, and workshops in drawing, painting, robotics, creativity, and crafts.

The programming is designed for audiences of all ages, allowing participants to either start new hobbies or deepen their existing interests while sharing experiences with family and friends. This participatory aspect is complemented by the exhibition and sale of products related to collecting, toys, and specialised leisure.

This eleventh edition will feature 23 exhibitors, with 20 coming from other provinces and autonomous communities, and three from Albacete and its province. Additionally, social and cultural associations, hobby clubs, and independent creators will contribute to the variety of content and activities at the fair.

Sancha pointed out that this blend of exhibition, specialised commerce, and associative participation brings together different expressions of popular culture and entertainment, from objects and toys linked to past eras to current creative and technological proposals. He encouraged families in Albacete and the province to visit IFAB this weekend to discover the activities prepared by the organisers.

Sancha underscored the importance of offering alternatives for “healthy and alternative leisure,” particularly those that promote coexistence, creativity, and participation among audiences of different generations.
