San Javier and Cartagena are currently the backdrop for the new film by Murcia-born director Alfonso Albacete, titled 'Si yo te contara'. The film is being shot in the region, with notable locations including the Los Arcos hospital and Santiago de la Ribera.

During a media event, Cayetana Guillén-Cuervo, who stars in the film and co-writes the script, explained that the story revolves around Susi, a successful journalist whose life takes an unexpected turn. The film explores themes of second chances and resilience.

The filming has attracted attention from local officials, including Juan Antonio Lorca, the secretary general of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, Manuel Cebrián, director of the ICA (Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts), and José Miguel Luengo, the mayor of San Javier, alongside David Martínez, the town's cultural councillor.

Alfonso Albacete expressed his delight at filming in his home region, highlighting the support from the regional government through initiatives aimed at promoting the audiovisual industry. While not all scenes are shot in Murcia, the film will feature additional local sites such as Calblanque, Teatro Romea, the Church of Santo Domingo, and Cierva Peñafiel public school.

Beyond the physical locations, the region will play a significant role in the narrative and memories of the protagonist, further enriching the film's connection to its setting.

Mayor José Miguel Luengo welcomed the film crew to San Javier, expressing enthusiasm for the project's contribution to the town's cultural visibility.
