Madrid in Game hosts fourth cazacracks fair to connect youth with gaming careers

Madrid in Game is hosting the fourth edition of the cazacracks fair, taking place over two days, with the participation of 12 universities and training centres specialising in the video game industry. Ángel Niño, the city councillor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, emphasised that the aim of this event is to provide personalised advice and guidance to students who are at the stage of defining their academic and professional vocations.

More than 1,000 students from secondary education and vocational training are expected to visit the Madrid in Game Video Game Campus, located in Casa de Campo, to explore the academic and professional opportunities offered by the gaming industry. The fair features a comprehensive programme of workshops, experiences, and interactive activities that will allow students, their families, and teachers to discover various disciplines within the sector, including programming, art, narrative, production, sound, and design, as well as training opportunities related to animation and new technologies.

The event includes participation from six universities: Complutense University of Madrid, Camilo José Cela University, University of Design, Innovation and Technology (UDIT), European University of Madrid, Francisco de Vitoria University, and Rey Juan Carlos University. Additionally, six specialised centres are involved: the University Centre for Technology and Digital Art (U-tad), the Film and Audiovisual School of the Community of Madrid (ECAM), the Higher School of Image and Sound CES, Lightbox Academy, RENDR, and Voxel School.

According to Niño, attendees at the fair will “directly learn about the different options for higher studies and specialised training, resolve their doubts with the educational institutions, and gather information on the academic pathways they can follow to develop a professional career in the industry.”

Alongside this, Madrid in Game will offer immersive experiences and activities designed to engage students with the world of video games. The programme includes workshops for learning to design 2D elements, stepping into the role of a photographer, participating in eSports competitions, and using virtual reality headsets to overcome digital challenges.

The fair will also feature four game development studios linked to the Start IN Up Program, Madrid in Game's gaming accelerator: Sons of a Bit, Evveland, Midnight Loop, and Wild Alchemist. Their teams will showcase how these companies operate and present the video games they are currently developing.

Finally, the eSports Centre will host the activity ‘Beat the Pro: Team MIG Challenge’, where young participants can compete against the Madrid in Game team in matches of League of Legends for various prizes.

This event marks the conclusion of the cazacracks tour, which since 28 September has visited schools and educational centres across the Community of Madrid to raise awareness of the academic and professional opportunities linked to gaming. In 2026, the tour has already reached 2,400 students across 33 educational institutions. Since its launch in 2023, cazacracks has established itself as a key municipal initiative to inspire vocations and connect young talent with the academic offerings and job opportunities of a growing industry. Between 2023 and 2025, the tour reached over 10,000 students from more than 100 educational centres, while the final events of the first three editions attracted over 2,500 visitors.
