The Galician Minister of Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, held a meeting with Ribeira's mayor, María Sampedro, and a group of local entrepreneurs to discuss advancements in the planning of the future industrial park in the municipality of A Coruña.
During the meeting, Lorenzana announced that the project for the urban development of the industrial area has been updated, allowing for the expansion of business land in the town. She highlighted that the Xunta, the regional government of Galicia, plans to initiate the bidding process for construction works this year, with the new park set to cover almost 260,000 square metres.
According to Lorenzana, the aim is to adapt the existing project to meet the actual execution needs and the technical and economic criteria that will govern the subsequent bidding process. This approach is intended to enhance coordination between the project drafting, the contracting of works, and their future execution.
This initiative is part of a broader plan involving 4.2 million square metres currently undergoing processing, urbanisation, or execution in the province of A Coruña.
