The Palacio Erisana has announced the launch of the classic film cycle 'Erisana Paradiso', aimed at rekindling the enjoyment of classic and family films in Lucena. The initiative, presented by the Cultural Councillor Francisco Barbancho, seeks to reconnect audiences with iconic films that have resonated across generations.
The programme will kick off on November 5 and 6, featuring screenings of Cinema Paradiso and Grease at 20:30, respectively. The cycle will conclude on December 13 at 18:30 with a family-friendly screening of The Grinch, in line with the festive season.
All screenings will be free of charge until capacity is reached. In a bid to recreate the nostalgic atmosphere of traditional cinemas, the cycle will include complimentary popcorn and various giveaways for attendees. Participants who come dressed up or are willing to dance during the screening of Grease will have the chance to receive gifts and experiences from the Tourism Delegation. Additionally, the December event will feature a pre-screening snack for younger guests.
As part of this initiative, the Cultural Delegation aims to preserve Lucena's cinematic heritage by inviting residents to share old photographs of the city's cinemas and theatres, both summer and winter venues. These images will be incorporated into an audiovisual montage to celebrate the memories of these spaces. Submissions can be sent to cultura@lucena.es.
According to Francisco Barbancho, this film cycle is intended to be a recurring event, with new editions planned for the following year.
