'Mira quién viene a cenar' is set to launch its second season on Televisión Canaria with a new day and time slot. Starting this Friday, 23 October, the programme will be broadcast weekly at 23:15, following the series 'El ambulatorio'.
To kick off this new chapter, host Rafa Méndez will welcome singer Shaila Dúrcal, the daughter of the beloved artists Rocío Dúrcal and Antonio Morales 'Júnior'. Dúrcal, who has strong ties to the Canary Islands, where she has performed frequently and enjoys her holidays, will share an evening filled with music, anecdotes, and memories with her host.
The night will also feature a special surprise for the guest. Joining the dinner will be young Canary Islands singer Mario Falero, who gained recognition in 2022 after participating in 'La Voz Kids'. The encounter promises to bridge generations, offering a space for music, emotions, and memories of Rocío Dúrcal.
The culinary offerings will be prepared by Lanzarote chef Luna Zacharías, a neighbour of Rafa Méndez, who will create a menu showcasing the products and flavours of the Islands. The meal will begin with crispy sweet potato, guacamole, and Iberian ham, followed by a unique watermelon salmorejo. For dessert, a creamy banana, gofio, and cocoa dish will conclude the dining experience.
With gastronomy as a focal point, 'Mira quién viene a cenar' combines interviews, music, and entertainment in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere, where guests share experiences, memories, and lesser-known aspects of their lives.
In its first season, the show featured well-known personalities such as Lydia Lozano, Caco Senante, David Ascanio, Agoney, Iván Torres, Marilia from Ella Baila Sola, Aarón Gómez, Marta González de Vega, Ceci Wallace, Álex Mercurio, and Mel Ömana.
Rafa Méndez, originally from Puerto de la Cruz in Tenerife, embarks on his second season as host of 'Mira quién viene a cenar'. The dancer and choreographer gained significant popularity as a teacher on 'Fama, ¡a bailar!' and has served as a judge on other national talent shows.
Chef Luna Zacharías, author of the book 'Recetas ricas en buen humor', runs a restaurant in Lanzarote and has made healthy cooking her personal brand. Her career blends gastronomy with yoga practice and the promotion of healthy living habits.
'Mira quién viene a cenar' is a production by Report Line Producción Audiovisual for Televisión Canaria, filmed at the Plató del Atlántico studios. With this new season, the public broadcaster reinforces its commitment to Canary Islands-produced entertainment, showcasing local talent and combining interviews, gastronomy, and community-focused content.
