The University of Alicante (UA) hosted a conference on Friday led by Ramón Jáuregui, president of the Euroamerica Foundation and former Spanish government minister, titled “Latin America caught between the US and China: and Europe?”.
The event featured the presence of Rosa María Martínez Espinosa, the UA's Vice-Rector for International Relations and Development Cooperation, and Javier Vidal, director of IUESAL. Martínez Espinosa praised Jáuregui's extensive experience, describing him as having a "very interesting profile with both national and international perspectives." She also highlighted IUESAL as a "world reference in Latin American studies."
During the conference, Jáuregui examined the current international disorder and the role Europe plays amid the growing influence of the US and China, both of which view Latin America as a highly desirable subcontinent.
