The Family, Youth and Childhood Department of the Valencia City Council has announced the opening of applications for the Young Art and Creativity Awards 2026, which feature a total prize pool of €75,000 distributed across 25 awards of €3,000 each. The application period will close on 9 November.
This initiative is aimed at young people aged between 18 and 30 who meet the residency requirements set out in the guidelines. In addition to the financial support, selected participants will have access to a space at Espai Jove VLC or other municipal locations for a maximum of three months, depending on availability and the specific needs of each project.
The awards cover a range of disciplines, including visual and plastic arts, performing arts, film, music, photography, architecture, literature, and comics. It also includes projects from emerging musical groups or solo artists, such as demos, videos, and musical compositions.
Mónica Gil, the Councillor for Family, Youth and Childhood, stated, “This call encompasses various forms of artistic and cultural expression and allows young people in Valencia to present their creative proposals.”
Application requirements
Artistic and cultural projects must be innovative and utilise the development period for creation and experimentation. Literary works, demos, videos, and musical compositions must be original and unpublished. Participants must be over 18 and under 30 by the application deadline, and must be registered in Valencia, studying at an educational or university institution in the city, or employed by a company based in the municipal area.
Applications can be submitted individually or by groups of up to five members, provided all participants meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the call.
Among the objectives of these awards are to support the professional development of young individuals starting in artistic, cultural, literary, or musical practices, to provide resources for project production, and to promote spaces for sharing experiences and knowledge. A public presentation of the creative process developed during the project is also anticipated, along with an exhibition lasting a minimum of 15 days when held at Espai Jove VLC.
Details and application forms can be found on the Valencia City Council website and the Family, Youth and Childhood Department's page.
