Vigo plans to resurface 169 streets by the end of the year

As part of a comprehensive urban improvement initiative, the mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero, has announced plans to resurface 372 streets throughout the city. Of these, 23 have already been completed, while 169 are set to be executed between November and December 2026.

The streets targeted for resurfacing in the coming months are located in various parishes, including Alcabre, Beade, Bembrive, Cabral, Candeán, Castrelos, Comesaña, Coruxo, Lavadores, Matamá, Navia, Salgueira, Sampaio, Sárdoma, San Xoán, and the city centre.

In addition to the immediate plans, there are also 41 resurfacing projects scheduled for January 2027, which will take place in Alcabre, Comesaña, Coruxo, Navia, Saiáns, and San Miguel de Oia.

Mayor Caballero emphasised that this “massive improvement initiative” for the streets of Vigo will be carried out in phases to minimise disruption to the city's daily activities.
