The Santander council has finalised arrangements with unions for minimum services ahead of the general strike planned for Wednesday, 11 November. A total of 57 personnel will be designated to ensure essential services are maintained during the strike, including 14 firefighters who will form part of the standard emergency response team.
In addition, a supervisor will be present at each of the 24 public schools to facilitate access to the facilities. Other essential services will include two staff members in the IT department, two in market services, four caretakers, three mobility agents, and two inspectors for evaluation and quality assurance. Furthermore, five personnel will be allocated to the secretariat, with two dedicated to the registry to assist citizens' inquiries, alongside a representative from Civil Protection.
Daniel Portilla, the council's Human Resources councillor, emphasised that the primary objective in determining these minimum services was to ensure that essential provisions are adequately covered.
