This Sunday, 8 November, at 18:00, the Sala Gran of the Kursaal in Manresa will host the musical 'Ilse, la última canción de Auschwitz'. The performance features original music by Jordi Domènech, based on a text by Roger Padullés.
Set against the backdrop of World War II, the production recounts the life of Jewish writer and composer Ilse Weber. It includes a live chamber orchestra and one of Europe’s finest children’s choirs, the Cor Veus dels Amics de la Unió de Granollers, alongside a talented cast that includes Emma Vilarasau, Neus Pàmies, Júlia Bonjoch, and Marc Pujol.
The story of Ilse Weber is one that deserves to be told, highlighting the duality of human nature—how music can provide solace while also reflecting the darkest aspects of humanity. The musical promises a blend of laughter, tears, and profound affection, encapsulating a narrative that will leave a lasting impact.
During a time when humanity faced its darkest moments in World War II, there were individuals like Ilse who brought hope and joy to those around them. Through songs, games, and tenderness, she enriched the lives of a group of sick children.
Tickets for 'Ilse, la última canción de Auschwitz' are priced at €25, with a reduced price of €6 for those under 30, and can be purchased at the Kursaal box office.
