Solrock festival returns with Los Porretas as headliner

The municipal pavilion in La Solana will once again resonate with rock music this Saturday, 31 October, as it hosts the XIX edition of Solrock, a festival dedicated to showcasing local musical talent, with the renowned band Los Porretas as the main draw.

The Madrid-based band will share the stage with local groups Like You, Grajo, and Sin Raíces, along with a DJ set by Ángel Moreno, coinciding with Halloween celebrations. The festival continues its original mission of providing a platform for local bands while featuring a prominent name from the national music scene.

Los Porretas, an urban rock band formed in the Madrid neighbourhood of Hortaleza in 1985, is known for hits such as 'El gran engaño' and their rendition of 'Pongamos que hablo de Madrid'. Their presence highlights the local music scene, with Grajo, the oldest and most emblematic rock band in the area, performing alongside Like You and Sin Raíces, who represent different musical styles and generations.

The festival will also include a DJ set by Ángel Moreno, who will help maintain the festive atmosphere throughout the event. Ángela Notario, the Councillor for Culture, emphasised the municipality's commitment to the festival during its official presentation, thanking Producciones Azafrán, the event's organiser. “As always, this council supports this festival,” she stated, highlighting the importance of backing local musicians: “At Solrock, we champion local talent.”

Fran Moreno, a representative of Producciones Azafrán, reiterated that the festival's primary goal is to provide opportunities for emerging and established music groups. “This initiative is designed to support the bands from La Solana,” he said, expressing gratitude for municipal collaboration and underscoring the significance of bringing back Los Porretas, which reconnects with the festival's origins.

Santiago López, the delegate for Festivities, encouraged the community to participate in a weekend filled with activities. The festival will open its doors at 19:30, with performances starting at 20:00. Advance tickets are priced at €10, while tickets at the door will cost €15. Children under 16 can attend for free when accompanied by a legal guardian.
