Benalmádena mayor meets director of Cuba's jazz festival

The mayor of Benalmádena, Juan Antonio Lara, recently met with Roberto Fonseca, the artistic director of the International Jazz Plaza Festival of Cuba. This visit follows the establishment of an agreement between the festival's organisers and Power Music, a local company based in Benalmádena, which will now represent the festival exclusively in Spain.

The reception, held at the town hall, was also attended by the Councillor for Culture, Jésica Trujillo, and Power Music representative, José Archidona. The collaboration aims to enhance visibility for cultural and musical initiatives associated with the festival.

This agreement links Benalmádena to the prestigious international festival through a local enterprise, paving the way for new artistic and cultural exchanges between Cuba and Spain, as well as future musical projects and collaborations.

The International Jazz Plaza Festival of Cuba boasts over four decades of history and has established itself as a significant event for jazz and Cuban music, featuring artists and professionals from various countries throughout its history. Roberto Fonseca, a pianist, composer, and producer, has an extensive international career rooted in Cuban musical traditions, collaborating with numerous artists and participating in various international projects and stages.
