The Tourism Board and the Journalists' Association have awarded the 36th edition of the Pica d'Estats International Tourism Prize to eight distinguished reports. Joan Talarn, president of the Diputación de Lleida, emphasised the collaboration between the two institutions to promote the region with quality and accuracy.
The ceremony was attended by Talarn, Juan Antonio Serrano, vice president of the Tourism Board, and other representatives from the sector. Talarn stated, "Explaining the Pyrenees and Terres de Lleida is also a way to love our destination." He also highlighted the crucial role of journalism in giving a voice to those who live and work in the area.
Serrano added that "the Pica d'Estats awards quality journalism" and stressed the need for well-crafted narratives in an era characterised by immediacy. Francesc de Dios, president of the Lleida branch of the Journalists' Association, noted the high standard of the 112 submissions, which have doubled the number of reports published in international media.
