The third edition of the USC-EASDRF Day will be held on Wednesday, 4 November, as part of a collaboration between the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) and the Ramón Falcón School of Art and Design (EASDRF). The event is coordinated by professors Miriam E. Cortés and Patricia Cupeiro from USC, alongside Ángela Morales from EASDRF.
Under the theme 'Art and Design in Lugo', the event aims to showcase the work being done at both institutions in cultural management and artistic disciplines, providing a platform to highlight the contributions of students from both schools. The programme will feature a variety of activities designed to raise awareness of the courses offered at each institution, covering topics related to cultural sector professions such as management, design, communication, and accessibility in artistic production.
The morning session will take place in the Faculty of Humanities' Salón de Grados starting at 10:00. It will include talks from Encarna Lago, a recent recipient of the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts, who is the manager of the Lugo Museum Network and a professor in the Master's programme in Cultural Services at USC. She will be joined by Germán Limeres, an EASDRF graduate and founder of the photographic collective Ruando, who will present the RuandoPhotoFest Lugo 26, a street and documentary photography festival scheduled to take place in the city during November and December.
The morning will also feature a presentation by Laura Villaverde, an actress, producer, and cultural manager, along with the Integrated Project of the Higher Cycle in Engraving and Printing Techniques titled 'Leitos. The object as a metaphor' by María José Santiso. Additionally, Sthephanie Cubides will present her Master's thesis on '22 years of the theatrical association Pinchacarneiros, advocates for the sociocultural cohesion of people with disabilities.'
In the afternoon, the conference will move to the EASDRF's Salón de Actos, where Lydia López will present her Bachelor's thesis on 'The meigas in the construction of Galician cultural identity', and Lucía de la Campa will showcase her Integrated Project in Artistic Ceramics titled 'Trama: a collaborative garment of contemporary tradition woven between trades'.
The day will conclude with a talk by Professor Isabel Somoza from EASDRF, a recent recipient of the Tenerife Award for the Promotion and Research in Craftsmanship, titled 'The engraving. A polyhedral piece key in artistic education', followed by a visit to the exhibition of the PhotoRuando 2026 competition.
