The Concello de A Coruña has finalised renovation works on the roof of the Teatro Rosalía de Castro, investing €414,000 in the project. The theatre had suffered from leaks due to previous renovations carried out a decade ago, which have now been definitively resolved.
This intervention addresses a problem that jeopardised the structure of one of Galicia's key cultural venues, renowned for its high-quality programming and strong audience attendance. The chosen solution involved installing a zinc overlay on the existing roof and improving access for maintenance purposes.
The Teatro Rosalía de Castro is a symbol of A Coruña's cultural identity and plays a vital role in the creation, dissemination, and engagement with the performing arts. With nearly two centuries of history, its iconic location in the heart of the city and a consistent schedule of theatre, music, and dance performances have established it as a cultural landmark in Galicia and an essential meeting point for the local community, significantly contributing to the city's cultural dynamism and visibility.
