The council of Algeciras has held a working meeting with Kuni (José Jesús), the director of Stylo Urbano Center, to discuss potential collaborations that would allow The Bouncers to take part in the World of Dance Summit 2027. This prestigious event is set to take place at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, from 29 July to 1 August.
Attendees of the meeting included deputy mayors Paula Conesa and Jorge Juliá, along with councillors Francisco Arango and Sabina Quiles, who oversee the departments of Equality and Social Welfare, Sports, Youth, and Commerce and Markets, respectively.
The Bouncers, a team comprising 19 young dancers, secured their spot in the competition by achieving second place at the World of Dance Portugal 2026. This accomplishment adds to a remarkable season in which they have claimed six podium finishes in seven competitions, including three first-place awards.
In Las Vegas, the team will compete in the Challenger Round of the Pre-Junior Team division, amidst an international gathering expected to feature over 300 teams from more than 60 countries.
During the meeting, the sporting merit of the group was emphasised, along with the significance of this qualification. The need to gather the necessary resources to cover travel and accommodation for the participants was also highlighted. Municipal representatives expressed their support for the initiative and their willingness to work towards finding collaborative avenues to facilitate the team's participation.
Local businesses, potential sponsors, and collaborating entities are encouraged to join this opportunity, which will allow these young dancers to represent Algeciras on an international stage.
