Alicante announces Kings for 2027 Three Kings Parade

The mayor of Alicante, Luis Barcala, has announced the appointment of Nacho Lloret, César Quintanilla, and Javier Portillo as Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltasar for the 2027 Three Kings Parade, which will take place on 5 January 2027. This announcement was made during the Relevo de Cargos event held on 5 November 2026.

In addition to the Kings, Maribel Valero, president of the Association of Moors and Christians of Altozano; Julia Sala, owner of 'Las Tartas de Julita'; and photographer Ana Vélez will act as the Royal Pages for the Kings of the East.

The outgoing Kings, Antonio Beresaluce, president of Aceitunas Cazorla; Carlos Bosch, founder of Grupo Gastroportal; and Nacho Amirola, president of the Institute of Economic Studies of the Province of Alicante (INECA), officially passed on their roles to the new Kings. Similarly, the outgoing Royal Pages, journalist Luz Sigüenza, influencer Elena Vidal, and María Asunción Arroyo, president of the Association for Occupational Leisure for People with Intellectual Disabilities (AODI), welcomed the new Royal Pages for 2027.

The announcements were made during a charity lunch at the restaurant 'El Sorell', where attendees contributed toys to be donated to a charitable association, continuing a tradition established in previous years. This year, the toys will be given to Cáritas Diocesana. The initiative is supported by restaurateur Vicente Mas, who noted that nearly 200 toys were collected in 2025 for Mensajeros de la Paz.

Mas described the event as “traditional and endearing,” highlighting its significance as a marker of the pre-Christmas celebrations and a chance to reconnect with friends. He expressed gratitude for the toy donations, stating they would bring joy to children who receive them, embodying the true spirit of Epiphany, which is well understood and conveyed in Alicante.

The event was further enlivened by a performance from local singer Belén Devesa, with the mayor accompanied by deputy mayor Manuel Villar, councillor for Festivals Cristina Cutanda, and other members of the Municipal Corporation.
