Jesús de Miguel, a player for CD Tenerife, passed away on Tuesday following a violent incident during a match. His burial is set for Thursday in Navahermosa, Toledo, the hometown of his family.
The funeral mass will commence at 15:00 in the San Miguel Arcángel parish church, after which the coffin will be transported to the local cemetery. Members of the CD Tenerife team and the club's Board of Directors are expected to attend, along with Amador Pastor, the regional Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of Castilla-La Mancha.
The Navahermosa Town Hall has declared three days of official mourning, during which flags on municipal buildings will fly at half-mast.
CD Tenerife has invited fans to participate in a tribute event in memory of Jesús de Miguel, scheduled for Saturday at 18:00 at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López Stadium. The stadium gates will open at 16:00, and entry will be free until capacity is reached.
