Andorra Digital has responded to criticism from parliamentary opposition regarding the duplication of companies and an increase in funding. The inclusion of its €2.6 million budget in the 2026 accounts sparked significant debate during the recent session of the Consell General, Andorra's legislative body.
David Vicente, the director of Andorra Digital, emphasised that the budget remains unchanged and defended the agency's role as a key player in stimulating the economy. "What is important is to work quietly and deliver results, and this is our mission. Gradually, certain results are becoming visible, which, if they did not exist, I doubt would have been achieved. Have they considered what Andorra would be without a cybersecurity agency? We would probably be wiped off the map," Vicente stated.
Vicente further asserted that they measure the economic return of their actions and are successfully leveraging their budget, particularly in terms of benefiting the country.
New digital services catalogue
This discussion coincides with the launch of Andorra Digital's new digital services catalogue. The agency has updated its existing offerings, expanding the number of companies involved to 150, all based in Andorra, available to both individuals and businesses. The search tool allows users to filter based on their needs, covering areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and marketing strategy.
The intention is to continue expanding the catalogue and to operate internationally. "It’s a digital marketplace, where I can find what I need, and the provider is Andorran. Potential clients include Andorran companies, but it can also be extended to businesses from abroad," Vicente concluded.
