The cultural agenda of Manzanares is once again filled with offerings for all audiences. One of the highlights will take place this Saturday at the Gran Teatro, featuring the comedy ‘Qué difícil es’, alongside two films scheduled for Sunday and Monday.
At 8pm on Saturday, the Gran Teatro will welcome back live performances with ‘Qué difícil es’. Recommended for audiences aged 12 and over, the play uses humour and sarcasm to tackle serious issues such as parent-child relationships, bullying, depression, and suicide. On stage, four actors portray seventy characters in a performance supported by simple yet effective staging, enhanced by lighting, shadows, and music. This production invites the audience on a journey to discover the beauty—and complexity—of life.
Tickets are available for €10 in advance (until Friday, 30 October) and €12 at the door. In addition to theatre, cinema will also take centre stage during the upcoming All Saints' holiday with a week dedicated to Spanish film. On Wednesday at 8:15pm, audiences can enjoy ‘Enjambre’; on Thursday at the same time, it will be ‘Cronos’; on Sunday at 6:15pm, ‘La bola negra’ will screen, for which all tickets have already sold out; and on the holiday of 2 November, also at 6:15pm, the cycle will conclude with ‘El ser querido’.
Shifting venues, the Casa de Cultura ‘Rafael Zárate Molero’ will host the launch of the new Citizenship School course at 8:30pm. Researcher and political scientist Anna López Ortega will deliver a lecture titled ‘The politics of fear: How the far right conquers power’, based on her essay about ultra discourse strategies in Europe.
Additionally, Halloween festivities will also feature prominently in the coming days. On Thursday at 7pm, IES ‘Sotomayor’ will present the haunted passage ‘El origen de Vecna’. Following their successful ‘Stranger Things Project’, the school will once again transport audiences to the Upside Down with many surprises.
On Friday, two events are scheduled. Between 6pm and 8:30pm, Calle Empedrada will transform into a spooky setting for a costume contest organised by ACECE, featuring a dance masterclass at 7pm by ‘Nuevo Ritmo’, a parade, and prize distribution (three prizes of €30 each, redeemable at ACECE shops). To close the day, starting at 9pm and in different sessions, the Centro Cultural ‘Ciega de Manzanares’ will once again host the haunted passage organised by the Youth Department and developed by Lazarillo TCE. Aimed at young people aged 12 and over, this year’s immersive experience is titled ‘El monte de las ánimas’, based on the famous legend by Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer. Registrations are open until Friday at the Youth Centre.
