Guijuelo's Municipal Luis Ramos has recently undergone a significant renovation, as confirmed by the mayor, Roberto Martín, and sports councillor, Jesús Manuel Hernández, during their visit to the facility. The upgrades include the installation of new artificial turf and the replacement of goalposts for both 11-a-side and 7-a-side football.
The new surface meets European standards UNE-EN 15330-1 and international FIFA Quality and FIFA Quality Pro benchmarks, ensuring high levels of safety, durability, and ball performance. The total investment for these improvements amounts to €324,661.73, covering an area of 7,630 square metres.
The previous artificial turf had been in place for 13 years and had reached the end of its useful life. The football pitch measures 109 by 70 metres, providing ample space for local teams.
This morning, the first team of C.D. Guijuelo trained on the new pitch in preparation for their upcoming Copa del Rey match against Sporting de Gijón. Additionally, the old turf has been repurposed for use in various areas of local schools, including Miguel de Cervantes and Filiberto Villalobos, as well as in the Recinto de Espectáculos.
