‘Compra y gana en Calahorra’ to distribute €3,000 in shopping vouchers from 2 to 14 November

The Calahorra City Council is launching a new initiative aimed at revitalising local commerce and supporting local traders. The ‘Compra y gana en Calahorra’ campaign will commence on 2 November, offering a total of €3,000 in shopping vouchers. The goal is to encourage spending in local shops, reward customers, and ensure that the prize money circulates within the city’s businesses.

To participate, customers must make a purchase at any of the participating establishments and scan a QR code provided in the store. This will direct them to a digital form where they will need to enter the name of the shop, their personal details, and upload a photo of their purchase receipt, while also agreeing to the privacy policy. Each registered purchase will grant one entry into the draw, meaning that the more receipts submitted, the higher the chances of winning.

Participating shops will be identifiable by a distinctive poster displayed in their windows. The City Council emphasises the importance of keeping the original purchase receipts, as these will need to be presented if a participant wins a prize.

Raquel Moral, the Councillor for Commerce, stated, “With this campaign, we continue to work to support local commerce and encourage shopping in our establishments. We want to reward the trust of those who choose to shop in Calahorra while also contributing to strengthening the economic activity of our local businesses.”

The draw for the €3,000 in shopping vouchers will take place on 20 November, with winners selected using a random computer programme from all valid entries registered during the campaign. Vouchers can be redeemed at any participating shop, with a maximum spending limit of €100 per store. This means that winners of €500 vouchers must shop at a minimum of five different establishments, while those with €200 vouchers will need to split their purchases between at least two shops, thereby maximising the campaign's impact on local businesses.

The deadline for redeeming the prizes is 30 November 2026, after which the vouchers will no longer be valid. The Calahorra City Council encourages citizens to participate in this campaign and to continue supporting local commerce, a vital sector for the economy, employment, and the life of the city.

The ‘Compra y gana en Calahorra’ campaign is being supported by the La Rioja Economic Development Agency (ADER) and involves the participation of local traders' associations.
