CoruñART returns to A Coruña with a focus on cultural industries

The Fórum Metropolitano will host the second edition of CoruñART on 7 November, a cultural fair and open meeting that aims to bring together various sectors of the cultural and creative industries. This event will combine professional programming with activities aimed at the general public.

Following its inaugural edition in 2025 at the Mercado de San Agustín, CoruñART has established itself as a significant platform for connecting creation, cultural management, and audiences. The programme will feature representations from cinema, theatre, music, photography, visual arts, literature, and illustration.

During the initiative's presentation, A Coruña's Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Gonzalo Castro, emphasised the importance of sustaining projects that strengthen the local cultural ecosystem. He stated, "A city does not build a strong cultural ecosystem merely by hosting numerous events. It is built by continuing projects, supporting its professionals, and creating spaces for interaction with the public."

Castro also highlighted that culture is a right for citizens and encompasses creative sectors that require networks, structures, and opportunities to thrive. He underscored the role of cultural management as a tool to connect talent, strengthen professional networks, and foster new collaborations and projects.

Under the slogan "Open meeting with culture," CoruñART will feature a packed programme throughout the day on 7 November. The main hall of the Fórum will host stands from cultural entities, associations, and companies, while workshops, round tables, and training activities will take place in the centre's classrooms.

Additionally, professional meetings will be organised in the form of speed networking, musical showcases, and an open mic space dedicated to literature. A specific family-friendly area will also be incorporated, a measure that Castro noted would enhance participation and accessibility at cultural events.

A notable new feature of this year's CoruñART is the collaboration with the Galician Academy of Audiovisual Arts. From 5 to 7 November, the Fórum will screen the four finalist feature films from the latest Mestre Mateo Awards, thereby reinforcing the audiovisual sector's presence within the event's programme. The School of Image and Sound will also participate by showcasing other audiovisual works throughout the event.

Registrations will open on 15 October. Professional registrations will be free, as will individual participation in scheduled activities. The registration period and stand applications will commence on 15 October, with all updated information available through CoruñART's official channels.
