Innovation and ai highlighted as key to productive sector, says lorenzana

María Jesús Lorenzana, the conselleira de Economía e Industria for Galicia, held a working meeting in Santiago with Eduardo Abad, president of the Union of Professionals and Self-Employed Workers (UPTA), to discuss the main challenges confronting the productive sector.

During the meeting, Lorenzana emphasised the importance of innovation and technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) as crucial elements for enhancing the competitiveness of the productive sector. She also outlined new strategic lines from the Consellería aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups, focusing on translating new technological solutions into business activity, investment, economic growth, and quality employment.

In response, Abad conveyed the difficulties faced by economic sectors, particularly due to rising energy costs impacting businesses.
