The Culture Department of Elche is reaffirming its support for La Carreta Teatro during the festive season with the launch of a special programme titled ‘Nadal de Titelles’. This initiative will kick off on 26 December at the La Carreta Theatre, offering six free performances aimed at family audiences.

Irene Ruiz, the city’s cultural councillor, emphasised the municipal government's commitment to the theatre company, recognising its significant contribution to the cultural landscape of Elche. She stated, “We have explored the best ways to support this venue and its programming to continue our commitment to a company that adds so much to Elche. Our intention is to maintain this support in the coming years, and we are examining various funding options within the current legal framework.”

The programme will begin with ‘Una Navidad con truco’, a performance by local magician José Mari, on 26 December, with shows scheduled for 12:00 and 18:00. On 27 December, ‘Coco y el mago viajero’ will be presented at 12:00. In January, La Carreta Teatro will showcase ‘Dolphin y el mar de plástico’, an underwater adventure focusing on friendship and environmental care, with a Valencian performance on 2 January at 18:00 and a Spanish performance on 3 January at 12:00. The festive campaign will conclude on 4 January at 18:00 with ‘El panadero y el diablo’, a classic and interactive puppet show.

Paco Pérez from La Carreta Teatro expressed gratitude for the collaboration with the Elche City Council, stating, “This partnership makes it possible to offer this festive programme that combines magic, puppetry, and theatre, allowing both children and adults to enjoy culture together during the holidays.”

Tickets for the performances will be free, with prior reservation required until capacity is reached.
