Diego del Alcázar to present his novel 'La idea de volver' in Palencia

Author Diego del Alcázar is set to present his latest novel, La idea de volver, on 10 November at 19:00 in the auditorium of the Palacio Provincial in Palencia. The event will be moderated by Professor Conchita Casalduero, and entry is free until capacity is reached.

This event offers a unique opportunity to engage with the author, whose work reflects on the impact of technology, nostalgia, and the timeless questions that continue to define the human condition. The novel juxtaposes the fast-paced life of New York City with the tranquil existence of rural Cantabria.

Diego del Alcázar Benjumea, who is also the executive president of IE University, explores significant contemporary dilemmas in his writing. He holds a degree in Law and Business Administration from the Complutense University of Madrid, with specialisations in Education, Entrepreneurship, Advanced Technologies, Change Management, and Energy Efficiency.

La idea de volver, published by the esteemed Siruela publishing house, is set in a village in the Cantabrian mountains, where two seemingly opposing worlds intertwine: the rural tradition embodied by an elderly mountain dweller and the technology-driven mindset of an academic returning from New York to reorder his life. His return rekindles family ties and raises profound questions about the human condition and how we construct our reality.

Del Alcázar is also the author of La genética del tiempo (Editorial Espasa), where he addressed current themes such as biotechnology and its ethical implications. In both works, he emphasises that contemporary themes are "the wrapping of universal dilemmas."
