Pontevedra launches 'Pasaporte Feroz' to reward audience loyalty ahead of awards gala

The council of Pontevedra has announced the launch of the Pasaporte Feroz, a new initiative designed to reward the community's engagement in activities leading up to the Feroz Awards. This programme will commence on 6 November and aims to acknowledge the consistent participation of local citizens in film screenings and events.

Anabel Gulías, the city’s councillor for Promotion, highlighted the significant involvement of Pontevedra’s residents in events running from October to January, which she described as a key factor in the success of the awards in the city.

Individuals aged 16 and over can obtain this personal and non-transferable passport at the tourism office, where they will need to provide their personal details. The passport operates on a stamping system, where attendees receive a stamp for each event they attend. Participants can collect multiple passports, which must be submitted together at the tourism office by 11 January 2027.

The initiative will kick off with a screening of the film 'Cerdita' on 6 November. The rewards will be based on the number of stamps collected: the ten individuals with the most stamps will receive double passes to the official Feroz Awards dinner, while the next ten will gain access to the VIP seating at the gala held at the Pazo da Cultura. In the event of a tie, the decisive factor will be the exact time of passport submission at the tourism office. Full details of the initiative will be available on the municipal website.

Maruja Torres to receive 2027 Feroz de Honra award

In a related announcement, Anabel Gulías revealed that journalist, writer, and cultural activist Maruja Torres will be honoured with the 2027 Feroz de Honra award. The councillor emphasised Torres's longstanding connection to cinema, which began with her work at the magazine Fotogramas, as well as her contributions to festival chronicles, shooting diaries, literary criticism, screenwriting, and occasional acting roles. To celebrate this recognition, the Pontevedra council, in collaboration with the Feroz organising committee, will host a dedicated film cycle focusing on Torres's career and achievements.
