The Town Hall of Torrevieja, through its Tourism Department, will participate in Expofiesta 2026, which takes place from Friday, 6 November to Sunday, 8 November at the Alicante Fairgrounds (IFA). This municipal presence at the fair aims to promote the main festivities and traditions of Torrevieja and their role in the city's tourism offering.
On Saturday, 7 November, a group of carnival performers will travel to IFA Alicante to present the Torrevieja Carnival. Their participation will bring one of the city's most representative celebrations closer to the public, showcasing the groups that take part and contribute to its continuity each year. The carnival also reflects the involvement of local communities in Torrevieja's festivities. The work of these groups, evident in their costumes and parades, is integral to the identity of this celebration. Their presence at the fair will highlight this effort and introduce the festival to those who may not yet be familiar with it.
To facilitate the transportation of the carnival representatives, the Town Hall has arranged a 55-seat bus. Departure from Torrevieja is scheduled for 15:00 on Saturday, 7 November, with the return bus leaving the fairgrounds at 22:00.
Local festivities as a tourist attraction
Expofiesta serves as a meeting point for the promotion of various celebrations and festive expressions. In this context, the presence of the carnival will allow for the broader festive offerings of Torrevieja to be showcased, illustrating how popular celebrations are woven into the cultural fabric of the city. The fair provides Torrevieja with an opportunity to disseminate its festive calendar to an audience interested in learning about the traditions of other municipalities.
Promoting local festivities gives visitors a chance to plan their stays around celebrations and experience Torrevieja at different times of the year. For the Tourism Department, promoting these events is a way to expand the reasons for visiting the city and link the promotion of the destination with the customs and traditions that define it. Participation in Expofiesta continues the municipal efforts for tourism promotion, co-financed by Turisme Comunitat Valenciana as part of a collaboration agreement to promote the tourism products of interest in Torrevieja.
