Iván Torres, the lead vocalist of the popular Spanish band Efecto Pasillo, is set to bring his intimate show 'Más allá del Pasillo' to two venues in Gran Canaria. The performances are scheduled for Saturday, 14 November at Teatro Víctor Jara in Vecindario and Saturday, 28 November at Teatro Guayres in Gáldar, both starting at 20:00.
This musical monologue blends songs, theatrical interpretation, and personal storytelling, focusing on themes of vulnerability, mental health, and self-awareness. Torres has enjoyed a warm reception during his earlier performances at Teatro Guiniguada in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Espacio La Granja in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where he sold out both shows.
Directed by actress and playwright Romina Vives, the show allows Torres to share his memories, concerns, and lessons learned, accompanied by a talented band featuring Javi Ramírez, Juanka Trujillo, Pablo Queu, Elvis Pescosa, Althay Páez, and Ana Gil. The minimalist staging, designed by Nauzet Afonso, enhances the emotional journey of the artist.
Central to 'Más allá del Pasillo' are the themes of mental health and vulnerability, as Torres encourages the audience to reflect on the importance of self-knowledge and accepting one's contradictions. This performance offers a more introspective and vulnerable side of the artist, creating a space to share personal stories that often remain in the shadows.
