The ix ruta de la tapa will be held over two consecutive weekends, from 6 to 8 and 13 to 15 November. Organised by the Ayuntamiento de Las Rozas, through its General Directorate of Tourism, this initiative aims to promote local gastronomy, boost the hospitality sector, and showcase the variety and quality of the culinary offerings in the municipality.
Participating establishments will offer their culinary creations at a price of €4.90, including a drink. The tapas can be sampled during the event from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM over the six days of celebration.
Voting and awards
The ruta de la tapa will feature two evaluation systems to recognise the best dishes. Customers can participate in the public voting by using QR codes available at the establishments, with their purchase receipt required for voting. To qualify for the prizes and participate in the draw, voters must sample at least three tapas from three different competing establishments. Each person can rate each tapa once and visit as many participating venues as they wish.
A professional jury will consist of three notable figures in the hospitality, catering, and gastronomic events sectors: Manuel Pastor Romero, owner and manager of the TGB (The Good Burger) franchise; Olga García Casado, manager of the Hotel Convento de Santa Clara in Alcázar de San Juan; and Marian Fonseca López-Belmonte, manager of the catering and event organisation company All About Eat. Their expertise will be crucial in assessing the creativity, quality, and originality of the participating tapas.
Awards and prizes
Four awards will be given: to the two tapas most voted for by the public, one for the best tapa without certain allergens, and one for the highest-rated proposal by the professional jury, with the overall winner becoming the face of the next edition of the ruta de la tapa. Additionally, among customers who meet the voting requirements, a draw will be held for a dinner for two, valued at €50 per person, at any of the participating establishments.
The awarded establishments will be required to continue offering their winning tapa during the weekend following the announcement of the results, allowing locals to enjoy the prize-winning dishes.
