The Jazzmad 2026 festival, hosted by the Madrid City Council, is set to showcase an extensive programme featuring over 40 concerts across the city from 6 to 12 November. Highlights include performances by renowned international jazz artists and prominent Spanish musicians.
On 11 November, one of the festival's most anticipated events will take place at the Fernán Gómez Theatre, where Kurt Elling will perform alongside The Yellowjackets. Elling, celebrated as one of the leading male voices in contemporary jazz, will collaborate with the influential fusion group, which has been a significant presence in the jazz scene since the late 1970s.
The festival's official programme kicks off on 6 November with the James Carter Organ Trio presenting their show 'Trane - A Centennial Supreme' at the Fernán Gómez Theatre. Other performances scheduled for the opening day include Judith Hill at the Teatro Albéniz and Vincen García at the Sala Villanos, among others.
Throughout the week, audiences can enjoy a diverse range of jazz styles, with performances from the Daniel García Sextet, Kenny Barron Trio, and Erik Truffaz & Antonio Lizana, among others. The 'Villanos del Jazz' series will feature artists such as Al Di Meola and Emma-Jean Thackray.
The festival aims to bridge tradition and innovation, presenting both established figures and emerging talents in the jazz community. It reinforces its presence in Madrid's cultural landscape by utilising various venues, including Centro Cultural de la Villa and CentroCentro.
As the week progresses, the festival will culminate on 12 November with performances from Alfredo Rodríguez at the Fernán Gómez Theatre and Erik Truffaz & Antonio Lizana at Conde Duque, alongside a vibrant array of events across the city.
