The Llanes Town Hall has completed the expansion of the motorhome area located on Avenida de la Tala, which now accommodates a total of 30 parking spaces. This project has added 11 new spots to the existing 19, significantly improving the services and facilities available to users.
The enhancements include the installation of an access control system featuring barriers and license plate recognition cameras, allowing reservations via a mobile application. The total investment for this project was nearly €140,000.
In late September, the Mayor of Llanes, Enrique Riestra, along with councillors Aurora Aguilar and Mónica Remis, visited the site following the completion of the works. The improvements involved paving new parking areas and circulation routes, as well as upgrading the electrical supply network to service the new spaces.
Additionally, the green area has been expanded with natural grass, and new resting spots with wooden tables and benches have been created to provide a more comfortable environment for visitors using these facilities.
The project, which cost €115,821.52, also included the enhancement of the stormwater drainage system through the installation of drains and connections to the sewage network, the relocation of lighting projectors, and the expansion of the perimeter fencing while maintaining the existing design.
To finance this initiative, the Llanes Town Hall applied for funding from the regional government of Asturias aimed at supporting local entities in developing special motorhome reception areas. Furthermore, a new access control system was installed, which cost €23,685.75. This system includes two automatic barriers with encoders and LEDs, two high-quality license plate recognition cameras, and a welcome totem with a QR code made of galvanised steel. A 4G router with VPN management has also been deployed to ensure connectivity and data security.
One of the most notable aspects of this project is the implementation of an integrated tourism management system. Through a dedicated website and mobile application, users can make reservations, receive official information, and access a multi-language digital tourist information point available 24/7.
This expansion not only enhances the capacity and infrastructure of the municipal motorhome area but also reinforces the services offered to visitors travelling in this type of vehicle, demonstrating Llanes' commitment to quality, sustainable tourism that embraces new technologies.
