Lleida wine festival sets participation record in new venue

The XIV Lleida Wine Festival concluded this afternoon with record participation. In its debut at the Palau de Vidre, the event saw a doubling of both public attendance and the number of tastings compared to the previous edition, solidifying its status as one of the key gastronomic events in the Lleida region.

The festival featured more than 150 wine and culinary offerings from 19 wineries of the Costers del Segre Denomination of Origin (DO) and 10 local restaurants. The programme combined tastings with heritage, tradition, and cultural activities.

Among the highlights were guided tours titled "Templar Heritage: The Wine of the Militia" at the Templar Castle of Gardeny, live musical performances, and the traditional vermut ramplón with garrotines, presented by Els Carrinclons de Lleida, which marked the festival's conclusion.

This year's festival included participation from wineries such as Castell del Remei, Cérvoles, Tomàs Cusiné, Solana Roivert, Clos Pons, Matallonga, Salvadó Alexandre, Vinya els Vilars, Costers del Sió, Mas Blanch i Jové, El Vinyer, Raimat, Vall de Baldomar, Boldú Viticultors, Lagravera, Celler de Sanui, L'Olivera, Mas d'en Roy, and Carviresa, as well as establishments like Parador de Lleida, Celler del Roser, Flamin, Brasa d'Or, Gremi de Forners de les Terres de Lleida, Restaurant Sisè, QR Cafè, Arenas Obrador, Txoko, and Carballeira.

This edition reinforced the commitment to expand the programme, enhance experiential activities, and refresh the event's image. Organised by Turisme de Lleida in collaboration with the DO Costers del Segre, the Lleida Wine Route, and the Hospitality Association of Lleida, the festival blends heritage, gastronomy, and viticultural culture, appealing to both locals and visitors.

The event keeps alive the spirit of the ancient harvest festivals of Raimat while projecting it into the 21st century, incorporating new experiences linked to oenology, gastronomy, and regional promotion. Tradition and modernity come together to continue highlighting the wines of the DO Costers del Segre and the gastronomic excellence of Lleida.
