Local government of Arnedo approves stabilisation works and theatre pricing

The Local Government of Arnedo has recently convened to address several municipal issues, including public works, service provision, cultural programming, and economic management.

One of the key decisions made was the approval of a contract for the stabilisation of Peña located on Carrera de Vico, specifically at numbers 58 and 60. This initiative aims to prevent further landslides and enhance safety in the area, which has experienced two recent incidents resulting in the collapse of a wall. The contract, awarded to the company Geotalud S.L., is valued at €35,186.80, including VAT, and the company will have 60 calendar days from the contract's award and notification to complete the work. Municipal architect Javier Garraza Rezano has been appointed to oversee the project.

Additionally, Garraza has been designated as the representative of the Administration for the acceptance of works related to the renovation of the hybrid climate control system at the Arnedo Town Hall. This project includes the replacement of the boiler room, transitioning from diesel to natural gas, along with improvements to the ventilation system. The official date for the acceptance of these works will be announced soon.

The council also approved a one-year extension of the bar service concession at the Municipal Sports Centre, effective from 21 January 2027 to 23 January 2028. Furthermore, the council has agreed to return a €7,600 bank guarantee deposited by Ignacio Ríos, the contractor responsible for organising and executing the major bullfighting events held at the Arnedo Arena during the San Cosme and San Damián festivities, part of the Feria del Zapato de Oro. Following a positive report from the contract manager, the guarantee will be refunded.

On the economic front, the Local Government has approved a payment plan for a construction company’s debt related to building taxes. The initial debt of €11,176 will be settled through instalments between 9 December 2026 and 6 November 2028, with total costs, including late fees, expected to reach €15,950.

Finally, the council has approved public ticket prices for five performances scheduled at the Teatro Cervantes in November and December 2026. Prices will range from €3 to €15, aimed at ensuring affordable cultural access for both Arnedo residents and visitors to the city.
