Peña flamenca in Chiclana celebrates november with diverse flamenco programme

The Peña Flamenca de Chiclana has announced a special programme for November, starting this Saturday with the acclaimed Catalan dancer David Romero. The municipal delegate for Culture, Susana Rivas, along with Peña Flamenca representatives Manuel Parra and Iván Sebastián, unveiled the activities scheduled to take place at their venue on Calle Luna throughout the month. This initiative commemorates the anniversary of flamenco's recognition as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, which occurred on 16 November 2010.

Susana Rivas highlighted that “November is the month of flamenco, and the Peña Flamenca Chiclanera, as has been customary in recent years, is once again showcasing this Intangible Cultural Heritage that we have in our country with a special programme that continues the activities they conduct throughout the year. The proposals are not only aimed at members of the organisation but also at everyone who is becoming engaged with this cultural alternative that has made the Peña a significant reference point for flamenco in the province and across Spain.”

Iván Sebastián added that “the programme we are presenting this time is very complete, especially because we have aimed to encompass all aspects of flamenco, including singing, guitar, and dance.” The series of performances will commence on Saturday, 7 November, at 22:00 with the presence of the renowned dancer, choreographer, and flamenco teacher David Romero, “a Barcelonan based in Seville who has worked with major companies such as those of Lola Greco, Joaquín Cortés, and Antonio Canales,” Sebastián noted.

Following this, on Friday 13 November at 22:00, the stage will feature the singer and guitarist Ricardo Fernández Moral from La Mancha. The following evening, Saturday 14 November, will see performances by Lucía Beltrán on vocals and Chaparro de Córdoba on guitar. Finally, on Saturday 21 November, also at 22:00, the flamenco evening will include performances by José Méndez from Jerez on vocals and Julio Romero on guitar.
