The Valencian Institute of Tourism Technologies (Invattur) hosted a visit from students of Complutense University of Madrid and IES Beatriu Fajardo de Mendoza in Benidorm on 29 and 30 October. The event aimed to introduce future tourism professionals to key initiatives and tools driving transformation in the sector.
Nearly fifty students and faculty members from the Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism and the Master’s in Planning and Management of Tourist Destinations at Complutense University visited the institute's facilities as part of a programme designed to explore best practices in innovation and tourism management in the province of Alicante.
Students from vocational training courses related to tourism at IES Beatriu Fajardo de Mendoza also participated in this initiative, which sought to enhance their academic training through direct exposure to projects and tools applied in the sector.
During the visit, students learned about the main areas of action undertaken by Invattur, including smart tourism, digital transformation of destinations, sustainability, tourism governance, and the application of new technologies to enhance the competitiveness of businesses and destinations.
The event also highlighted the collaboration between public administrations, educational institutions, and the tourism sector, creating learning opportunities that help prepare professionals to tackle future challenges in tourism. Through such initiatives, Invattur reinforces its commitment to knowledge transfer and the training of new generations of professionals, fostering closer ties between education and the realities of a constantly evolving sector.
