The Mayor of Talavera, José Julián Gregorio, along with Sports Councillor Antonio Núñez and Urban Planning Councillor Benedicto García, has confirmed the commencement of seasonal reseeding at the Municipal El Prado football pitch. This annual maintenance activity aims to adapt the playing surface to the forthcoming winter weather and ensure its preservation during the colder months.
The reseeding process involves replacing the summer grass variety, Bermuda, with a winter variety known as Ryegrass. This change is essential for maintaining vegetation cover and enhancing the pitch's conditions as temperatures drop. The process includes several technical tasks and a germination period for the new seeds. During this phase, the grass may exhibit variations in colour and uneven patches until the new vegetation establishes itself properly.
Gregorio emphasised that “these tasks are part of the necessary maintenance to keep the Municipal El Prado football pitch in the best possible condition, adapting it to the needs of each season.”
