The council of Getafe has closed the application period for its new sports bonus system aimed at Regular User fees for sports facilities for the 2026/2027 season. Following the end of this initial registration phase on 15 October, a total of 13 sports organisations have submitted their documentation and are now entering the evaluation stage.
Javier Santos, the councillor for sports, highlighted the initiative's purpose: “The aim of these bonuses is to encourage grassroots sports and ensure it is accessible to all residents, regardless of age or physical ability, while rewarding good practices among clubs.”
The sports department has established an objective, verifiable, and accredited system through which organisations can receive deductions of 10%, 40%, or 100% on their annual fees. The percentage of the bonus will depend on the score obtained from evaluating compliance with a series of indicators once the season concludes.
This new process is directed at legally constituted, non-profit sports organisations that are duly registered in the Municipal Register of Associations of Getafe and have a reservation as Regular Users of the facilities. From this point forward, municipal technicians will assess the applications based on six key areas: the sports project and prevention of sports dropout among adolescents; promotion of effective equality and non-discrimination; social inclusion and accessibility; promotion of health and well-being; transmission of personal and social values through sport; and, finally, municipal collaboration and social return to the city.
