Tarancón activates special traffic measures for All Saints' Day

The local council of Tarancón has initiated its annual special traffic measures in anticipation of All Saints' Day. From 30 October to 2 November, the council has put in place standard extraordinary measures aimed at improving access for citizens to the Santa Marina cemetery.

The cemetery will be open from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm during this period. A loading and unloading zone has been established next to the main entrance to assist individuals with reduced mobility and those needing to temporarily drop off flowers.

Special signage will be installed on nearby streets such as San Juan and Luisa Sigea, which will operate as one-way for the week and will include pedestrian areas. Additionally, Virgen de la Soledad and Santo Entierro streets will have designated pedestrian spaces and adjusted traffic directions.

In the weeks leading up to this event, the Works and Services department has undertaken maintenance work, including the enhancement and cleaning of green spaces within the cemetery, as part of its ongoing annual upkeep. The council has also recently acquired a new lightweight, certified aluminium ladder to improve access to the niches.

Campaign against vandalism

As in previous years, coinciding with the Halloween festivities, the council has launched a campaign against vandalism in urban furniture, titled ‘I care for Tarancón, your bad actions cost us all’. This initiative aims to raise awareness among the public about the importance of respecting community norms and caring for shared spaces, while also seeking to reduce vandalism, graffiti, and damage to public facilities.

The council encourages citizens to report any witnessed criminal activity to the Local Police or the Civil Guard. Officials stress that vandalism leads to significant economic costs for repairs and diverts municipal workers from addressing other pressing issues or making necessary improvements within the city.
