The Sinfonietta de Pamplona is set to celebrate its 35th anniversary with a special concert on 23 December at Baluarte, a prominent cultural venue in the city. Tickets for the event are currently on sale for €15, available at the Baluarte box office and through its official website.
This concert is part of the musical programme organised by the Pamplona City Council for the upcoming Christmas season, with further details on the full schedule expected to be announced as the festive period approaches.
The performance will take the audience on a journey through symphonic music, exploring themes from the universe and cinema. The concert will feature Gustav Holst's revolutionary work 'The Planets', composed in 1918, which has significantly influenced the musical language of film over the decades. The pieces 'Mars' and 'Jupiter' from Holst's suite will be performed alongside atmospheric scores from films such as 'Interstellar', 'Contact', 'Alien', and 'Artificial Intelligence', culminating in the iconic theme from 'Star Wars'.
Enhancing the concert experience, a visual presentation created by Javier Armentia will be projected on a large screen, featuring impactful imagery that complements the orchestra's performance, enriching the narrative and transforming the concert into a sensory and cinematic experience.
The concert will be conducted by Caroline Collier, the director of the Sinfonietta de Pamplona, and is scheduled to begin at 20:00.
