Baleares highlighted as a leader in travel tech at world travel market

Jaume Monserrat, president of the Balearic travel technology cluster Turistec, made a strong case for the importance of technology in the tourism sector during his remarks at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London. Speaking on the radio programme Herrera en Cope Baleares, Monserrat asserted that technology has become an essential element for maintaining competitiveness in the tourism industry, declaring that without it, there is simply no tourism.

He highlighted that the sector is undergoing a paradigm shift driven by digitalisation, artificial intelligence, and, crucially, data management. Monserrat explained that the ability to automate processes and leverage information will be vital for developing new tourism products and business models in the coming years.
