The Tourism Board of the Lleida Provincial Council is promoting its birdwatching offerings in the Pyrenees and Terres de Lleida through the visit of three American influencers and the inauguration of an exhibition at the Delta Birding Festival. The event, held in Amposta, brings together ornithologists and nature enthusiasts.
Juan Antonio Serrano, the board's vice president, stated that these initiatives are part of ongoing efforts since 2023 to showcase the region's ornithological wealth, including the successful Birding Forum events.
This press trip, organised in collaboration with the Tourism Board of the Tarragona Provincial Council – Terres de l’Ebre and the Catalan Tourism Agency (ACT), featured influencers Rachael Tancock and Jill Taylor from Canada, along with Adam Blundell from the United States. During their visit, they explored key birdwatching locations such as the Ivars and Vila-sana pond, the Massalcoreig and Mas de Melons drylands, Collegats Gorge, Port Ainé, and the Tremp Basin.
At the Delta Birding Festival, attendees can view an exhibition featuring 16 banners displaying information and images of various bird species, including the rock pipit, the marsh harrier, and the black woodpecker, as well as the bustard, the sandgrouse, and the common shoveler.
Serrano emphasised that this exhibition is another way to promote the Birding Ebre Pirineus project, which highlights the route from the Ebre Delta to the Pyrenees as one of the top destinations in Europe for birdwatching, boasting a diversity of up to 350 species within a short distance.
