University of Granada marks 500 years of the 1526 royal decree with travelling exhibition

The University Library of Granada has initiated a travelling exhibition dedicated to one of the most important documents in the institution's history: the royal decree of 7 December 1526. This decree, issued by Emperor Charles V, facilitated the establishment of the Estudio General de Granada, which is the precursor to the modern University of Granada.

The exhibition features a reproduction of this foundational document, allowing the university community to closely engage with one of the most emblematic pieces of the university's historical heritage. This initiative is part of the University Library's efforts to promote awareness of its documentary heritage and is designed to be both educational and cultural.
