Concerts a Palau series opens with musical kaleidoscope

The musical kaleidoscope, presented by the Cercle Líric Balear and the Orfeó de Mallorca, has launched a new edition of the Concerts a Palau series. Approximately fifty attendees gathered for the first of four performances in this musical cycle, organised by the Consell de Mallorca, held in the assembly hall of the island institution.

Performers from the Cercle Líric Balear and the Orfeó de Mallorca showcased a carefully selected repertoire for the occasion, featuring both a cappella pieces and those accompanied by piano. The programme included arias and duets that had been honed during academic meetings of the singers.

The concert series will continue with three more performances: the Coral Sor Francinaina will present a selection of vocal polyphony pieces from various eras, encompassing both sacred and secular themes; a duo comprising Raquel Llera and Daniel Mulet will perform arias from opera, zarzuela, lied, and romantic Catalan songs; and the Mallorcan band The T-Makers will deliver an energetic rock performance influenced by the styles of the 1950s and 60s.

The remaining concert schedule is as follows:

  • Friday, 20 November: Coral Sor Francinaina
  • Saturday, 21 November: Piano and voice with Raquel Llera and Daniel Mulet
  • Sunday, 13 December: The T-Makers
