Comedian Eduard Arrieta is set to make his solo debut at the Teatre del Centre Catòlic with his show ‘Irresponsabilitat afectiva’ on Sunday 8 November at 18:00. This comedy monologue draws from Arrieta's personal experiences to discuss life, highlighting how everyday situations can appear absurd from a different perspective.
Following his involvement in the production ‘Sense Filtre, guía de supervivencia para Boomers’ alongside Sergi Zaragoza, Arrieta has honed his craft across various stages and comedy clubs through stand-up sessions and open mics. This journey has inspired him to embark on a personal project. He has also performed in English in Germany and Italy.
“It’s my most personal show. There’s a lot of intensity because I’m an extroverted person who puts passion into expressing emotions,”
The show addresses universal topics such as personal relationships and travel, while also tackling contemporary issues like artificial intelligence, social media, and LinkedIn. Arrieta emphasises the importance of creativity and personal experience in shaping his performance. Although he frequently uses artificial intelligence, he opts not to rely on it for writing his monologues, believing that humour and audience connection require a personal touch.
To enhance audience engagement, attendees will receive a card during the performance that they can raise to share a story, ask a question, or suggest a discussion topic. Arrieta aims to encourage participation without pressuring anyone to take the stage or feel uncomfortable.
‘Irresponsabilitat afectiva’ will be performed on Sunday 8 November at the Teatre del Centre Catòlic, with tickets priced at €10.
