The Ciudadela's Sala de Armas is set to host a bilingual writing workshop this Saturday, entitled ‘La memoria es una hoja en blanco / Memoria orri zuri bat da’. The session, which will be conducted by Iñigo Satrustegi, is free of charge and will take place from 11am to 1.30pm, with entry on a first-come, first-served basis.
This workshop complements the collective exhibition ‘Un lugar que no es aquí’ (A place that is not here), currently on display on the first floor of the Sala de Armas until 24 January 2027. The workshop will explore themes of memory and storytelling, both individual and collective, encouraging participants to write on blank pages and weave their words into new narratives.
The concept of memory as a process of construction is a central theme in the works featured in the exhibition ‘Un lugar que no es aquí’, which includes pieces by contemporary artists Nagore Chivite Lizarraga, Ainhoa Apezteguia Extramiana, and Leire Lacunza Miranda, alongside selections from the Pamplona City Council's Contemporary Art Collection, curated by Jone Rubio and Elena Olave.
This workshop marks the first of three mediation activities related to the exhibition at the Sala de Armas. On 12 December at 6pm, Carmen Rodriguez Conesa will present a music and audiovisual concert titled “Carmasutra”. The next writing workshop is scheduled for 16 January 2027 at 11am, featuring the title ‘Ingurua izendatuz gerorako lur bat malgutuz’, a phrase from Ane Zubeldia Magriña's book ‘Kontra’ (Susa, 2025). This workshop, conducted in Euskera, will be led by writers Ainhoa Apezteguia and Nagore Chivite, with prior registration required via email at cultura@pamplona.es.
