The Josep Salceda and Castells Library in Cambrils will celebrate notable figures such as musician Pau Casals and architect Antoni Gaudí throughout November, alongside a focus on astrophysics. This month’s agenda also includes events related to the Bons Tractes Days, which promote respectful relationships, and initiatives against gender-based violence.

The programme kicks off on Wednesday, 4 November, with a storytelling session for children titled “La bici de la Lola,” led by author Alba Barbé and Serra. This will be followed by a workshop addressing issues of gender-based violence aimed at adult audiences.

On Friday, 6 November, the library will host “Sona que trona,” a musical bingo game designed for families to explore the works of Pau Casals, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the cellist's birth.

Another highlight will occur on Friday, 13 November, with a theatrical storytelling session named “Andròmeda, l’astrofísica,” presented by Anima Theatrum. This performance, part of the Science Week and Bons Tractes Days, narrates the journey of an astrophysicist who overcomes numerous challenges to achieve her dreams, addressing themes of self-confidence, resilience, freedom of choice, and perseverance.

The programme will continue on 17 November with the launch of the book “Entre Gaudí i el Cel,” commemorating the centenary of Gaudí's death. The event will feature authors Xavier Pete and Jordi Pacheco, journalist Marc C. Griso, and sculptor Joan Serramià. The book offers a journalistic and literary account of the 36 hours Pope Leo XIII spent in Barcelona, capturing the essence of a Pope, a city, and a historical moment.

The final scheduled activity is a talk on menopause by Dr Raquel Tomàs and Tutusaus, which will discuss what menopause is, its implications, and long-term effects. This session, taking place on Friday, 20 November, is part of the Bons Tractes Days and is supported by the URV Extended Campus.

As usual, the library will host “Let’s talk about books” sessions every Thursday afternoon to practice Catalan, along with monthly meetings of various reading clubs that now operate without prior registration. Participants need only to collect the book beforehand from the library. The Family Reading Club, led by Sílvia Palazón, will meet on Friday, 20 October, while the Adult Reading Club will focus on the topic of child sexual abuse through the book “L’endemà de les nits” by Gemma Asins, with the author present on Tuesday, 24 November, coinciding with the Bons Tractes Days.
