Carmen Teresa Olmedo, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports, has highlighted the importance of the International Social Cinema Festival of Castilla-La Mancha (FECISO) as a fundamental instrument for promoting equality, inclusion, and coexistence. During the awards ceremony held at the Teatro de Rojas in Toledo, Olmedo underscored cinema's ability to raise awareness, generate empathy, and contribute to the construction of a fairer, more supportive, and inclusive society.

In this context, the Deputy Minister emphasised the strong support from the Government of Castilla-La Mancha for cultural initiatives like FECISO, which bring diverse social realities closer to the public and encourage reflection on issues such as human rights, disability, diversity, sustainability, and a culture of peace. She also stressed the importance of aligning culture with social action to strengthen democratic values and social cohesion.

Olmedo acknowledged the efforts of the Social Cinema Association of Torrijos and its director, Tito Cañada, as well as the festival's educational dimension, which extends beyond screening rooms to reach students, the elderly, and groups connected to social inclusion. She congratulated the award recipients and reaffirmed the regional government's support for initiatives that use cinema as a vehicle for awareness and social transformation.
